General Accounting
General Accounting provides accounting services for state, local, and agency funds, and handles external financial reporting, including the preparation of CSUSF annual financial report. The accountant responsibility for each area/org is available on monthly computer print-outs.
Month-End Closing
Purpose- To describe the month-end closing date for the accounting system.
The accounting system month-end closing date is the last day of each calendar month. All entries and adjustments must be made the first week of new month before fiscal computing runs the month-end closing.
Departmental Record Keeping
Purpose - To retain university financial record for a sufficient time period.
Departments should retain financial records for an extended period of time. One reason for maintaining records is to provide source documents to substantiate charges to sponsored project agency/orgs.
