Terms and Conditions
Card Use
The SFSU OneCard is your multi-purpose ID card. Your OneCard must be presented in order to enter numerous campus facilities, obtain services, and allows library and computer lab access. Your OneCard may be deactivated and/or retained if inappropriate or illegal use is reported. Reactivation of OneCard is dependent upon approval by a supervisor. The Replacement Card Fee will apply. Your card and related accounts are non-transferable.
Debit Account
This account is a record of your money deposited into your Bay Bucks/Gator Dollars account. The money is available for purchasing products and services wherever the OneCard is accepted. You do not earn interest, you may not use the OneCard as a credit card, nor to obtain cash, and you may not transfer your account. You may make a deposit by American Express, Discover Card and Mastercard by logging onto the Online Card Office or cash at any VTS location. No change is given from a VTS. Cash deposits at any VTS will be available immediately on your account. You may retrieve your OneCard transaction history up to a 90-day period by accessing your OneCard account.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Cards
You agree to immediately report any lost or stolen OneCard in person or by logging onto the Online Card Office and suspend your card. You will be responsible for all usage of your OneCard prior to reporting its loss or theft to the OneCard Office. We cannot re-activate a lost or stolen card if a replacement has been issued. All replacement OneCards are subject to an Administration fee. Only in the event of a theft, you may submit a petition to waive/refund the Administrative Fee. The petition must be accompanied by an official copy of the police report in order to be reviewed by the Registration Appeals Committee. Damaged cards may be subject to the full Replacement Fee.
Account Closure
Your account will be closed when you cease to be a student or employees of San Francisco State University. Students, staff and faculty may close their accounts at any time by completing the required form at the OneCard office. An Administration Fee will be charged for refunded balances. Refunds will not be issued for account balances of $20.00 or less in value. Any refund will be paid by check through normal University procedures. SFSU reserves the right to close any account that is inactive for more than twelve (12) months.
Receipts and Statements
Most point-of-sale terminals are equipped to provide a receipt for each transaction. It is your responsibility to ensure that the receipt is correct. An account statement listing recent monthly transactions will be generated upon your personal request at the OneCard Office.
Error Resolution
If you suspect and error on a receipt or account statement, contact the OneCard Office no later than five (5) days after the error appears. If you report the error orally, a written confirmation may be required within two (2) days. The investigation should be available within ten (10) days of notification; however, if more time is needed, the investigation may take up to forty-five (45) days. If no error is found, a written explanation will be provided within three (3) business days after the close of the investigation. You may request copies of documents used to support our decision.
Disclosure
We will disclose information about your account to third parties for any of the following reasons: 1. In order to complete a transaction requested by you 2. In order to comply with a court order 3. To fulfill a lawful University department or program request 4. With your written permission
