Delegation of Authority

Delegation of Authority (DOA) is the official SF State document to ensure financial responsibility and accountability of fiscal authorization made on behalf of San Francisco State University. The President may delegate fiscal authority to cabinet level Vice Presidents, and the Vice Presidents and their direct reports may further delegate fiscal authority throughout the university.

The fiscal authority is the initiation and authorization of all expenditures for a specific funding source/combination of funding sources, on behalf of the university. This authority does not authorize the employee to sign contracts or agreements that financially or administratively commit any portion of the university’s assets or resources.
